This access statement does not contain personal opinions as to our suitability for those with access needs, but aims to accurately describe the facilities and services that we offer all our guests/visitors. ​ Introduction Hare Cottage, built in 2014, is a Visit England and AA 5* Gold Family and Pet Friendly self-catering holiday with panoramic views from the large floor to ceiling doors overlooking the stunning rolling green countryside of the Yorkshire Dales. Hare Cottage can be accessed from the car park via two patio steps. The Cottage is all on one floor with two beautifully presented en-suite bedrooms sleeping up to 4 guests + travel cots. The whole cottage has under floor heating. ​ Pre-Arrival To plan your journey and find a location map for how to reach us please visit our website www.harecottage.co.uk. Full details of how to reach Hare Cottage will be sent directly to the customer on payment of the full holiday rental. The cottage postcode is Finghall DL8 5ND. The nearest railway station is in Northallerton which is 14.5 miles away. Accessible taxis are available from within the local area (Bedale and Leyburn). Accessible taxis can also be available from outside the train station in Northallerton. The nearest bus stop is located within the village of Finghall, outside the Queens Head public house. Details on accessibility on bus services can be found at http://vanilla.northyorkstravel.info/place/finghall/ ​ Key Collection and Car Parking Full details regarding key collection and car parking facilities will be sent to the customer via email when the holiday rental has been paid in full. Designated car parking is available for 2 cars plus overflow on private land less than 4 meters from the front of the Cottage. The parking area has granite sets. This area is well lit at night by motion sensor lights. ​ Entrance to Property The front door is 34 inches wide. The patio doors exceed 60 inches if both doors are open. Access to the door to the front and the rear of the cottage from the car par is made via 2 patio steps with a slight shallow step up into the property. The entrance is well lit via motion sensor lighting. The floor immediately inside the back door is brush matting. ​ Halls, Stairs, Landings, Passageways The cottage comprises of an open plan living space. There are no stairs or passageways and the property is all on one level. The patio area can be accessed via the French doors overlooking the garden. Sitting Room/Lounge The open plan sitting room/lounge & kitchen are all directly accessed from the front and rear doors of the one storey Cottage. The floors in the open plan area are karden oak. The cottage has a mixture of seating with sofas and soft chairs with a mixture of non-feather and feather and down cushions. All seating furniture can be moved. There is Wi-Fi, a widescreen digital television (fixed to the wall by a movable bracket) with remote control, subtitles, Netflix, and a DVD player. Lighting is natural daylight and by night levels are controlled by dimmer switches or overhead lighting. Side table lamps are also available in each room excluding bathrooms. All seating furniture, including the dining room table can be moved. The table has legs on each corner and can seat up to 6 people, additional chairs are located in both bedrooms. 4 chairs have non-feather cushioned seating. ​ Bedrooms and Sleeping Areas Hare Cottage is all on one floor so bedrooms have step free entry level access. One bedroom has a zip link king sized bed. The doors to both bedrooms are 750mm/29.5ins wide. Both rooms and one bathroom has a chair. A travel cot with mattress is available upon request. Linen is not included. Lots of natural daylight in the bedrooms and bedside lamps and overhead pendant light. Both beds have pillows and duvets with feather filling. Non feather pillows and duvets are available on request. Bathrooms have showers, bath, toilet and basins. Floors are tiled with underfloor heating. The super king room bedroom has an en suite containing a step free, walk in monsoon shower plus a free standing roll top bath. The king room has a bath with overhead monsoon shower. Toilet and wash basin with overhead mirror and shaver points in both bathrooms. ​ Garden The patio area spans over the front of the property which can be accessed via the French doors of the open-plan lounge/kitchen diner by one small step. The lawn area can be accessed from 2 small wide patio steps. Western cedar hot tub within the garden boundary and additional decking area with extra sofa style soft seating and a table for up to 6 people. The garden is fenced with chicken wire to avoid pets escaping. Other Two well behaved dogs are welcome. Additional dogs at the discretion of the owners to be agreed BEFORE booking. The nearest general hospital with an A&E unit and walk in NHS is 14.5 miles away at the Friarage Northallerton . Additional information for dentists/chemists etc. are available in the welcome folder in the cottage. Always call 999 in an emergency or 111 if the call is not urgent. All areas in the cottage are tastefully decorated between the floor, doors and walls. Generally, doors and door frames are dark wood and walls are light in colour.
